Nibble On Nuts For A Better Sleep

Throw away your sleeping pills and head to the pantry before bed tonight. The answer to a drug free sleep could be right inside your house.

Walnuts and Almonds are excellent go to foods to enhance your sleep. According to Jason Wrobel, a longevity obsessed raw vegan chef with his own TV show and author of his first cookbook Eaternity, walnuts are a great source of tryptophan which is a sleep-enhancing amino acid. "In the brain, tryptophan is converted to serotonin, which induces sleep" explains Wrobel. Pop some before bedtime tonight to get the body snooze-ready.

Almonds are another great super nut "high in Potassium and B vitamins which help our nervous system to relax, " says Wrobel. Even better, spread some almond butter on toast with sliced banana (another sleep super star) - no need to get into a downward dog yoga pose before bed, just let your head hit the pillow for a restful sleep.
